Brand Risk, SSB and the Cartoon: The Art Behind Our Designs

· Style & Merch

Every Adin Ross design in the collection comes from one part of my world: Brand Risk, the SSB crew, the cartoons or the badge. Here's what is on each one, so you can find the piece that fits you.

What is on the Brand Risk designs?

Brand Risk is the name I gave my clothing line in 2024, and two of the designs are built around it.

  • Brand Risk World Domination: the only two-sided design. BRAND and RISK in torn, sand-coloured letters frame a distorted, screaming face on the front; WORLD and DOMINATION fill the back, with a small red EST 2023 mark.
  • Brand Risk Brain: a small orange-red B monogram with Risk written across it, above a fist squeezing a red-and-yellow brain.

What does SSB mean?

SSB was the name of the content-creator crew I ran with my friends. The SSB design keeps it simple: three letters in thick, wavy yellow script.

Which designs are cartoons?

  • Cartoon: me as a wide-eyed caricature in a black cap, tongue out, holding a stack of cash, above my name in white and yellow block letters.
  • FTP Records Sign or Die: the ftprecords wordmark over a grinning face spitting out a vinyl record, with a SIGN OR DIE label.
  • FTP Records DJ: the same wordmark over a black-and-white cartoon DJ in an FTP shirt, scratching two turntables.

And the badge?

The Stars and Stripes Badge looks like a round campaign button: a photo portrait on a stars-and-stripes flag inside a navy ring with white stars. Look closely and the lettering reads ADEN ROSS, spelled with an E, just as the artwork was drawn.
